Tyler Rocio Ecoña (they/she) is a Peruvian-American Native Quechua playwright, dramaturg, & theatrical DEI consultant. Their work embraces intersectionality, bilingual dialogues, and radical representation in pursuit of joy beyond margin.
As an emerging disabled creative, they have been a Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Fellow at the University of the Arts, and a disability consultant and community outreach specialist for shows at Philadelphia Theatre Company (Cost of Living) and UArts (The Sweet Hereafter, Dear Mr. C).
As a playwright, they have been a resident finalist at the Kennedy Center's VSA Playwright Discovery Competition, and a Silver Medal & Gold Key winner at the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards. Ecoña's work has been presented by the Kennedy Center, Philadelphia Women's Theatre Festival, the Queerbook anthology at Giovanni's Room, Polyphony Lit magazine, Susquehanna University, Ann Arbor District Library and more.
Ecoña is a member of The Dramatists Guild, Latinx Playwrights' Circle, and Latinx in Animation. They have most recently worked as a Season Apprentice at InterAct Theatre Company. BFA: The University of the Arts.
